Mountain West Names 30 Aztecs to Fall All-Academic Team.
In a ceremony on Saturday, December 17, 2016, more than 200 Fort Lewis College graduates and their families packed Whalen Gymnasium for Fall Commencement. The speaker chosen to offer the Commencement Address was Leslie Goldstein, senior lecturer in the FLC Freshman Math Program and winner of the FLC Alice Admire Outstanding Teaching Award.
A total of 11,758 students enrolled during the 2016 fall semester at The University of Alabama were named to the Dean's List with an academic record of 3.5 (or above) or the President's List with an academic record of 4.0 (all A's). The UA Dean's and President's lists recognize full-time undergraduate students. The lists do not apply to graduate students or undergraduate students who take less than a full course load.
Several local residents made the academic Deans' List at Azusa Pacific University. These students are honored for a fall 2016 grade-point average of 3.5 or better. They are joined by 2,175 students receiving the same honor.
Admission ambassadors play a key role in the Office of Admission's recruitment efforts by professionally and authentically representing Fort Lewis College to prospective students, their parents and family, the high school and community college guidance community, as well as visitors to the Durango area. Ambassadors are chosen through a rigorous application and interview process and are selected based on their campus involvement, academic success, and enthusiasm for Fort Lewis College.
Over 400 students were named to Fort Lewis College's Dean's List for the Fall 2015 semester. These students took at least 15 credits of gradable hours and achieved a 3.60 or higher grade point average.
The Associated Students of Fort Lewis College is the student government for Fort Lewis College. ASFLC senators are representatives acting in the interest of all FLC students who, according to their mission statement, "act with exemplary character, originality, and in harmony with the values of the College Community, will respectfully advocate for a student-centered agenda promoting general well-being, effective communication, informed leadership and efficient use of student resources."
The Dean's List recognizes academic achievement within a single fall semester or spring semester. To be eligible for the Dean's List, students must be in good academic standing, matriculated, and have a grade point average of at least 3.50 based on a minimum of 12 units of credit for courses in which letter grades were assigned. The computation of grade points will be made six weeks after the end of the semester to include students who complete Incomplete grades promptly. Students will be recognized by the dean of their respective college; undeclared, interdisciplinary studies in three departments, and liberal studies majors will be listed by the dean of undergraduate studies.
More than 12,000 ASU undergraduate and graduate students had their degrees conferred at the May commencement ceremonies.
Undergraduate students who earn 12 or more graded semester hours during a semester in residence at ASU with a GPA of 3.50 or higher are eligible for the Dean's List. A notation regarding Dean's List achievement appears on the unofficial transcript.
Several area residents received merit scholarships to attend Fort Lewis College for the Fall 2014 semester. These merit scholarships are renewable for up to 120 credits if criteria are met. Fort Lewis College also offers several other scholarships, including grants, the Finish in Four! Scholarship, FLC Foundation scholarships, alumni scholarships, departmental scholarships, Native American scholarships, and outside scholarships.
